Calling all kids!

Summer Fun Fest is a great time for the little ones to strut their stuff in the Kiddie Parade, which begins at City Hall and marches to the Dickinson House, on Saturday, June 16th, at 10 a.m.

Decorate your bike, trike, stroller or wagon and be part of SFF's "Heroes Come in All Sizes" parade. All area kids 10 and under are invited to be part of this fun event, thanks to generous local sponsors.

This year's theme will give kids the opportunity to honor their heroes--real or imaginary. Dress up as a firefighter, baseball player, astronaut or superhero, or deck out your bike in red, white and blue--it's up to you!

Line-up and judging will begin promptly at 9:30 a.m. in the City Hall parking lot. The parade will begin at 10 a.m. and march to Dickinson House, where refreshments and prizes will be rewarded.

Prizes will be given in all age groups. Children will be divided into three age groups, Terrific Tots (<4 years), Patriotic Peewees (4-6) and Super Heroes (7-10).

Pre-registration is greatly appreciated. We want to be sure we have enough prizes and treats for everyone! For more information or registration forms, call City Hall, 815.883.3389.

This is just one of many Saturday offerings for the younger sect, including our popular Kids Party in the Park, which begins at 2 p.m. and the Cruise-In at the Rootbeer Stand from 6 to 9 p.m.

In fact, there's all sorts of fun going on in Oglesby on Saturday, from city-wide yard sales to the library's used book sale, a teen dance party to beers and bands for the of-age crowd. Not to mention the excellent carnival and midway at the core of Summer Fun Fest!
