Book Sale: Thrill of the Hunt

Oglesby Friends of the Library Book Sale
Saturday, June 16th
9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
111 S. Woodland Ave.

If you like books and love a bargain, then you won’t want to miss the Oglesby Public Library’s annual book sale to be held Saturday, June 16th, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the library.

The book sale, held each summer by the Friends of the Library, provides funds that enable the library to supplement and enhance its programs and offerings.  The group collects books throughout the year from a variety of sources, providing a rich diversity of genres. Whether it’s romance or reference, biographies or children’s classics, historical novels or how-to-manuals, sorting through the stacks is just as much about the thrill of the hunt as the literary treasure you take home.

And when you’re finished hunting books, grab a map of the city-wide garage sales in search of more bountiful bargains.   Maps will be available at City Hall, on this website, or at the Oglesby Library.

The book sale is held in conjunction with these city-wide sales, and will run concurrently with Oglesby's bigger-than-ever Summer Fun Fest, which includes a Cruise-In at the Rootbeer Stand and a fireworks finale. Mix in a carnival, free nightly entertainment, kids’ activities and one giant parade and you have a weekend filled with family-friendly activities.

To donate books for the sale, or for more information on the book sale, call Oglesby Library at 815-883-3619.  To be included in the listing of garage sales, call Oglesby City Hall at 815-883-3389.
