Party in the Park: Free Kids Activities

Free Kids Event & Entertainment!
sponsored by IVCH's Oglesby Medical Clinic
featuring Tony Hoard and the K-9 Crew
Saturday, July 8th, from 1 to 3 p.m.

Summer Fun Fest Grounds

This year’s Party in the Park is going to the dogs – and cats. Pet-themed activities, a chance to “adopt” your own furry friend, and pooch-approved refreshments plus the opportunity to meet and have your photo taken with a member of the Paw Patrol round out an afternoon of fun – and free – children’s activities.

Party in the Park is on Saturday, July 8th, from 1 to 3 p.m., and open to children aged 3 to 8 years and their caregivers.

In addition, Tony Hoard and his K9 Crew will provide entertainment for the partygoers. The talented pups and their owner will roll out their tricks during three shows. Tony also finds a way to actively involve audience members in his show – but the true stars are of the four-legged variety.

Party in the Park is the festival’s centerpiece when it comes to family fun. More than 300 kiddos and their parents attended our event last year. Generous sponsorships by Illinois Valley Community Hospital’s Oglesby Medical Clinic and John’s Service and Sales ensure this event is free and, therefore, open to all. The K9 Crew perform thanks to a gift from Buzzi.

Parents might also want to check out the popular kiddie parade, held earlier in the morning, Saturday, July 8th. Participants decorate their bikes, trikes and wagons and parade down Dale Avenue to Dickinson House, where refreshments and prizes are handed out.

The Party in the Park is only a part of the larger Summer Fun Fest, which boasts a
fantastic midway and carnival at its core. North American Midway—one of the Midwest’s top productions, focused on safe, family fun—will be offering a wristband specials each day. For $25, festivalgoers can ride unlimited rides—a perfect Party in the Park encore!

In fact, there's all sorts of fun going on in Oglesby on Saturday, from city-wide yard sales to the library's used book sale, bands to honor our military service people, a hilarious lumberjack show, a talented chalk artist and some country and hard rock around the beer garden. But check out our full schedule so you don't miss anything!
